will 245 nitto dr's fit on the 16x7 wheels?

I have my old set of stock steel wheels lying around and would like to put them to use. Could a 245/50/16 nitto drag radial fit on them? I am thinking they would be too narrow but if the tires would fit that would be awsome. Thanks!

they will fit but it will be sticking out some..... some might say it would be unsafe... but you can do it.

Do you think that the contact patch would still be normal or distorted?

Well since its drag radials, and its only 0.5", I think it'll work fine. I've seen far worse done and it was okay, and this would be really minor and only for drag radials anyhow...
