KDWs are almost 2X as much.
A street tire won't hook on the strip well, so don't buy street tires to work on the strip, you are wasting money.
Buy some good value street tires (nothing majorly generic).
If you race, buy some BFG drag radials or even ET streets for the strip. You wil be a LOT happier on the street and at the strip. You will save money in the long run over running drag radials all the time.

Also price is not so much a concern either, it's a Christmas gift and she said she will spend 500.
Honestly, even though you guys are saying good things about the Kuhmo's, I have heard on;ly bad things. My cousin had them on his WS6 and said the wobble at high speeds, and wear too quick. A buddy had them on his ranger (same size as my cousin, 275 35 17 or something) and said in heat they get really sticky so they wear out real bad, and in cold they spin non stop.
