  • Ceramic brake pads.

Is the jury out on these for sure yet or not?
I remeber a few years ago that the only cars that really came with ceramic pads were high dollar porsches. Brakes were thousands of dollars for those things. Now everyone and their mother sells some type of ceramic brake pad and they only cost a few dollars if not the same price as good semi metallics.

Who has had ceramic pads more than a few months?

Is there really that big a difference over good semi mettalics?

Please everyone post the straight dope on these things.

I've had them on for over 1 1/2 years already, and I wouldn't buy anything else. "IF" they didn't have the stopping power of high quality brake pads, I didn't notice. They stop just fine for me, and zero brake dust is the best thing since slices bread in my opinion. I actually bought another set of new ceramic pads just to have as extra's when the current ones start looking shabby.
I give them two thumbs up!

I'll go along with hockey. I have Hawk Racing slotted rotors on the front, and ceramic pads all the way around, and they're fantastic. I noticed a HUGE difference in stopping power when a dog ran out into the highway in front of me lol If you don't have them already, throwing some slotted rotors on the front along with the ceramic pads would definitely be a big improvement over stock.

I think the braking power is the same, but just i love that theres little dust. About 80% less than regular brake pads.

                  Thanks for posting everyone.
Just switched from performance friction to ceramics up front. All I can say is awesome. I know i am comparing old pads to new ones but i still don't think the PF pads were ever as good as these new ceramics.
