  • Alot of vibration from TA bushing?

For anyone who've changed their torque arm, did switching to a poly bushing give you much more vibration?

I didn't notice much of a difference but it coudl be because I was overjoyed to have a freshly rebuilt tranny at the same time.

I noticed a little vibration when I installed a Prothane TA bushing on the stock arm, but I also installed BMR poly/ poly LCA's and panhard rod the same day, so I couldn't tell you which one it was. But now that it's all broken in, it's pretty sweet. I was just thrilled to get that damn stock TA bushing out. It's probably not that bad when you have a lift, but mine was on jackstands with about a foot of room to work with.

I did not notice any difference installing a poly tq arm bushing. My suspension was already tight and firm though.

switching to poly bushings anywhere will give you more vibration until they are broken in, as well as more road noise.
this is why you will see on bmr's site that they offer rubber bushings as well as rubber/poly combos for those people who want a quieter car.

I see what your saying, I actually run rubber/poly chrome-moly arms but on installing my TA I was wondering if I sould replace the poly w/ rubber depending on the vibration. I do remember what my poly tranny mount was like when I first put it in. Was just wondering if it'll be like that.

You'll most likely see much more vibration at first, then it will break in and be much more subdued, though probably still noisier than stock rubber.

No, I do not think I would put an aftermarket torque arm on and then give it a crappy rubber bushing.
