Thinking about getting these.. Anyone know anything and/or have Wilwood brakes on their Camaro? I can only find a kit for the front.. do I absoulutely need a kit for the back or can I just use regular brakes?
Holy S***
those are freaking expensive. i mean obviously its your money and you can spend it however you want, but seeing as how your car is stock, unless you want to do some SERIOUS racing, i would suggest some slotted and/or cross drilled rotors and a high performance ceramic pad. Satisfied is coming out with some good stuff for our cars. check them out at www.tirerack.com
again if you really want to get these go ahead, it will be a huge improvement over stock. if your spending that much money on the fronts get a rear disc conversion and some ceramic pads or at least get new shoes if your sticking with the drums
SSBC had some really good for stuff for less money

they will not fit the stock rims and will not fit some 17X9 rims either. If you really want to get some good info on brakes look in their forums. they have excelint info on suspension setup, wheel/tire, and brake stuff.
Originally posted by FirebirdGT: $1400 and that's only for the front! Put discs on the rear first, and you can also put the LS1 brakes on the front. MUCH cheaper and still good.
Seriously, for that price you could swap in a V8 rear (with 3.42 gears, posi and 11.5" disc brakes) put 98+ front 12" disc brakes on the front, add a set of slotted or drilled rotors at all 4 corners and still have money left over. This setup would still allow you to run stock wheels.
If you want to upgrade to 17" wheels you can get adapters to fit Corvette 13" rotors and calipers on the fronts.
I was also checking into this. Everything I have read recomends that you should upgrade the rear along with the front as well. I didn't get much of a response on various message boards, except "it cost too much, blah blah blah".
You also have to use a 17" wheel, and not all 17" wheels will work. Wilwood's web site has a template you can print out and put on cardboard to check for backspacing, etc.
I am going to try upgrading brake pads, and lines first. I'll see how this goes. If I get some better stopping power that I am happy with great. If not... upgrade to a 6 piston it is!
