Once I finish my braking system, I'm going to start on the suspension, probably starting with the sway bars. I've heard good things about both BMR and SLP products. Is one truly better than the other, or does it matter as long as you use the same brand consistently?

they both make decent stuff.
you can mix and match, no problems there.
Just make sure the parts you buy are compatible, ie, not the SLP subframes, and the BMR torque arm.

I had heard that, I was just wondering if one was really any better than the other. I don't know that I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about any particular brand of sway bar. I went with 1le since it's the cheapest. For other suspension mods I'd probably go with a brand name but for sway bars I've heard 1le is as good as the rest. This is _so_ not true. It's not a question of brand, it's a question of size (stiffness).
If you don't know swaybars, they're a lousy mod. You can really screw up your handling. To give just one example, bars depend a lot on springs and most sway bars, like BMRs or 1LEs, are designed for V8 springs, not V6 springs.
And, if you don't know bars and choose them just because some guy on the Net or a salesman recommends them, you're putting too much faith in that guy. One thing that makes these recommendations suspect is that some bars may feel fine or even great in normal driving, but can make the car can do something really squirrely in an emergency maneuver.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

SLP makes good road course/track suspension pieces. that's why the firehawks and ss's handle so well, is because SLP puts their pieces on them. BMR tends to lean more towards drag racing w/ their use of poly bushings, but their rod-ended pieces are track-worthy.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Actually, I probably won't mess with sway bars until I can find some springs that only lower the car an inch or less. If I were to lower my car as much as some of the other guys on here I would drag the whole bottom out of my car. There's too many dirt roads and potholes around here to do any serious lowering. I don't known about LCA and PHB : 1LE or BMR
1LE are cheaper ... is it a good choice to go whith 1LE?
What are the difference with the BMR one's?

BMR is better hands down. The SLP stuff is just upgraded stock stuff for a V8.2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears.
