• Eibach springs Friday!

I'm getting my Eibach springs Friday morning. I'm looking forward to how the car will handle after that. I'm getting it done for $400. Does that sound like a good deal? The place said they usually charge $525, but I've been getting some work done there and I think they want to keep my business. Supposed to be getting the kit that lowers it 1.6 in the back and 1.4 in the front, or so the guy said. Is that right, or does he have it backwards? I thought I read 1.6 in front, 1.4 in back, but maybe that doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. What would be a good thing for suspension to add next? The springs are my first suspension mod.

Thanks,
Manning

Yeah thats why I don't lower the bird...
But it just looks so bad ***...I may have to just get touch-up paint for whenever it gets too bad on the front 2 pieces ;)
Not much looks cooler than a lowered w68 bird

is it $400 for installation or does that include the springs too? i know a guy here in town that will install springs/shocks and align the car for $100. are you getting shocks too? i'd recommend doing it all at once to save on installation costs.

having a lowered car isn't a big deal. i can pretty much make it over any bump as long as i go slow. post some pics when you're done.

That is including the springs. So, total price = $400. I don't have the shocks yet, a friend of mine might do those for me anyway and save me the labor charge. I'll post some pics when it's done!

I highly recommend getting a couple of your friends and hopping in there to do it yourself. There's nothing more satisfying than saying you did the mod work to your car yourself.

Yeah, I have never been one to do my own work to a car. I decided to do the CAI though, and since it was the first thing I'd ever done, I was a little afraid of messing something up. But, I jumped in there and did it anyway, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I have caught the bug, and I'm looking to do as much as I can, myself.

I got the springs today. The car handles much better! I'm very pleased. I got the sportline kit, and it has no lean/tilt at all. When I brake harder, the car doesn't dip forward. That in itself is worth a lot to me, I hated that! It stays very level through sharp curves now. I was surprised how much the springs helped by themselves.

I like the look of the drop, too. As soon as I can, I'll get some pictures and post them and you guys can let me know what you think.

Next project will probably be some Z28 swaybars.

By the way, I heard from a friend that a z28 swaybar would be good to get. Should I get a Z28 front AND rear bar, or are the front swaybars on the V6 models and the Z28's the same bar?

Basically, anything that will take what little remaining "sway" out is what I am looking for. With the Eibach sportline springs, what would someone here recommend as my best swaybar setup?

TIA!

I will get those pics up soon, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Planning on taking them later today.

I have a quick tire question: With these springs, my car rides (of course) rougher. I have 245/50 tires. My question is, would the stock camaro tire, a 215/60, soften the ride? And also, is this a better tire for rainy/snowy weather, or is it good for everyday driving as well?

Thanks!

The narrower tire will almost certainly ride better. It should be better in wet/snow, but size isn't everything there.

There is a lot of good info at

Cool Man, how much was the grand total for the job, plus what is the ride quality like with them?
