i'm about to buy tires, but i'm not sure what to go with. i live in jersey, so i do get some snow in the winter. i was thinking about either fuzion zr1 or kuhmo, probably the fuzion's, b/c i keep reading that they are great in the rain. are either of these decent in snow? or should i go with bfg traction t/a's or pirelli's or something expensive like that? will they make that much difference in the snow? i use my car as a daily driver. thanks. peace.

i'd like to get pirelli's, but i don't know how long i'm going to keep my stock rims. if i get the same size rims, is it easy or cheap to have my tires taken off and remounted? i think i want to go a little cheaper on the tires and just get something decent, since i don't race or drive crazy or anything, then spend some money in a year or two when i buy wheels. thanks.

ok well if your not racing then you don't need the pirelli tires. but they are still a great all season tire. not sure how much it would be to get them remounted. guess it depends on your local shops. call around to get an idea

Kuhmo ASX's are the best all-round rain/snow/ crap weather cheap tire out there, IMHO. Summitomo HTR+'s are in the same thift-store price range, and are good cheap all-season tires also.
