Need some help with tire selection, please

I am buying 2 new tires next week and I have 2 choices:

Pirelli Nero Zero M+S

-or-

Kumho Ecsta ASX

They are almost the same price (Pirellis being $7 more) so that isn't the issue.

Is there a big difference in the quality/performance between the two? I need some facts/opinions on them and if you have had one or even both of them at some point, please feel free to elaborate.

Just a little info about the car:
1998 Camaro V6
Tire size: 245/50/16
Car uses: Mostly an "A to B" car, the occasional street race, no burning out, no excessive speeding, no hard braking

Where are you getting the Pirelli tires from? They no longer sell 245/50/16 on tirerack.com, I was just looking for some.

I have those Pirelli tires on my car right now and LOVE THEM. They are excellent tires. I recommend them to everybody because of their price and performance. However, I got mine from tirerack.com and they no longer carry that size, so I am looking at downgrading to a 225/50/16 because of that.

My friend bought a used M3 that had new Kuhmo ASX tires and spun out on a freeway onramp like 2 days after he got the car. Me and my roommate went and took the same turn at the same speed and were able to take it.

I would definately get the Pirelli tires over the Kuhmo's espcially since they're so close in price.
