I hear about these how are they. I am in the need of new break pads. I have Hawk pads now. I hear alot about these ceramic pads. Are there any downsides to them. I hear they are quiter and perform good and less break dust. Where can i get these and what do they ussally run. And are there any downsides to them.

I'll be getting them as soon as I get my new rims. They eliminate brake dust completely. So that's why I'm getting them, not more scrubbing dust off the two front wheels.

They don't completly remove brake dust, just minimize it some. You can buy the raybestos brand ceramic brake pads for a fair price at pepboys or places like that. They stop pretty well and have lasted for quite a while.

I'm running the raybestos ceramic pads from Pep Boys! i tried the NAPA brand earlier, they were about the same in stopping power and minimizing brake dust. I say go for it, much better than regular metallic compound stuff.

when getting brake pads, think about getting new rotors too. baer eradispeed rotors are guaranteed from ever warping. The only problem w/ drilled/slotted rotors are not warping, but cracking from heavy braking.

poor rotor surface finish, failure to use silicone-based lubricant on all metal-to-metal contact points. failure to wash rotor after resurfacing. these are the three main causes of brake noise.
are you sure you got ceramics? they are usually a little more expensive. maybe $20 more than what you say you paid.
use Sil-Glyde from NAPA to lubricate all caliper slides as well as the back of the pads.
wash resurfaced rotors with a stiff brush and soapy water. make sure the rotor has a non-directional finish. also make sure you use shims on pads to absorb vibration.

also, if you're real hard on your brakes, you can liquify the friction lining resulting in a condition known as high-speed glazing. this will also cause a squealing noise.
