Anyone removed their 16:1 rack and installed a Y87 or LS1 14:1 rack? Is it worth the time?

Install should not be too hard and I can get one for 100 bucks. :D

Do it... It's supposed to give the car firmer handling and a tighter turning circle.

V8's do but ours are 16.x :1 ratio I don't think it's tighter than a Civic but I could be wrong.

the steering rack ratio does not control how far the wheels turn, rather it controls the amount of turns of the steering wheel compared to the degree of turn of the wheels... but the wheels can only go so far. A quicker ratio would only allow less turns of the steering wheel to turn the wheels completely.

it should for some reason allow for a tighter turning circle, if you compare what gm says a v6 will turn vs a v8, the v8 has a much tighter turning radius. Dont know why, but it's what gm claims.

unless you do some AX or competative driving its not really worth it..

however.. I love mine.. it wont make the car perform any better, but it will make it so you have to turn the wheel less into a sharp turn.. which is nice.. i guess..
