I recently did a rear end swap and ever since ive been having problems with my rear suspension. I first had this knock noise whenever i went over a big bump, so i bought new shocks and still no difference. Now i also have this clicking kinda noise on both sides whenever i push the car down on the rear. It also comes from both sides. It sounds like its coming from the area around the drums,(i kept my drums cause the rear didnt come with calipers)shock and spring area. Its really been one thing after another. Can anyone give any suggestions. it makes the clicking noise whenever i push it down and the rear goes down as far as it will go,then youll hear it.

when you bolted in the LCA's, did tighten them down while the car was jacked by the frame, or by the axle?

btw - I should be getting my car back from the body shop today, sending the PCM out to texas speed tomarrow for some updates and LCA's PHR and STB going in over the weekend. If Im not ready for the track next Thurseday, I definately will be the following week.

I bolted everything up while the car was on jack stands which were placed right in front of where the LCA'S bolt to the frame and i also had the rear jacked up with the jack on the axle right at the differential housing. Is there a different way to do it? Am i supposed to do it while the tires are on and the car is on the ground? Like hand tighten everything then lower the car, then tighten everything. I seriously am ready to get rid of this car and go to the darkside. I cant stand it anymore. This clicking noise got worse by me pushing the rear down trying to find the noise. It was bad but after doing that it makes it all the time.

you are supposed to fit the LCA's in place and insert the bolts to hold them while the car is jacked by the frame. then lower it and jack it back up by the axle. then tighten the LCA bolts.

You may have pre-loaded the bushings which *may* be causing the clicking.

When are you getting this noise? Can you replicate it when the car is stopped by spinning the wheels while its jacked up, or by pushing down on the hatch of the car working the suspension?

It doesnt make the noise when the wheel spins, its a suspension noise, when i push down on the hatch and the rear compresses down, then it makes the metallic clicking. It makes it when i hit any little bump.Do you think it has anything to do with the springs? Its not like a creeking noise like a bed spring but i cant count out anything. I made sure to put the rubber piece in at the top off the spring. Also i diddnt grease up any bushings during the install. But i dont think that has anything to do with it.I would love to show you and see if you could figure it out. I cant go to the track until i get this taken care of. Hopefully i fix it this weekend.Im thinking it something with the drum brakes in the rear.

You have a driveway/garage or someplace to take a look at it? Im busy most of the weekend, but maybe I could swing over Sunday afternoon.
