ever since i installed the bilsteins on my car, there is this bumping noise everytime i go over a bump...everything is tight and i did everything the right way when i installed them. but my question is, the stock front shocks had this black cylinder shaped boot thing to protect it...the bilsteins didn't, so i took the stock one and put it over the bilsteins. Do you have to have that cover over the bar from the shock? could the noise be coming from that? cause i jacked it up today to check everything and that is the only part that moves and if i move it up and down really fast it makes this bumping/thumping nosie...so should i just take it off or does that need to be there?
