  • Tire Width???

    I have 215's on the stock 16in rim right now. What is the widest I can go as foar as tire size. Will 245's fit?
    Slp Hood, Raised Airbox, K&N Airfilter, 80 Series Flowmaster, Chrome 3in slash cut tips, 2% Limo Tint,Panasonic Head Unit, JL 6.5\'s in the doors, JL tweeters on the dash. Kick panels with JL 5.25 csi componet set. 2 JL12W3\'s in a probox. A JL 300/2 amp for the mids and high\'s, and a JL 500/1 for the BOTTOM. Xstatic Batcap 400(=200 farad). 18x8.5 chrome Zenetti Vegas, 245/40ZR18 Avon ZZ1\'s all the way around.

    i have 235s, and they seem to fit pretty good, i think even 255 would fit [img]tongue.gif[/img]

      255's fit very well. 255-50-16's are as close to the stock tire diameter as you're gonna get, ynless you get the 235-55-16's.

        I have 285s in the back and they rub just a hair when i hit irregularities in the road but nothing you can hear. u can just see lil rubs on the sound proofing stuff in the fender well.

          Maybe I should restate this. What is the widest tire width that will fit on the stock 16in rim? :cool:

            i just got 245's (245/50/16) put on today, i like the look of them much better than the stock 215's, they fit just fine. i believe 255's are the widest you can go on 16x8

              I ran 255 50 16's in all four corners forever!!!
              Bone stock 16 x 8 5 star 1997 pontiac rims

                I bought 245s last week, and like them very much. Now that I see them on the car, I could've gotten away with 255s without having much of a "bubbled out" look. :(

                  P255/50R16 is the widest possible, and it looks and handles great.

                      I believe 255's are the widest you can go without looking stupid. 245's are nice.
