  • SLP Bilsteins, non-SLP Eibachs

I just ordered the Eibach pro-kit springs from Thunder Racing, and I was wondering how well the SLP Bilsteins would work with these, since they're a little softer than the HD's. Anyone have this combination that could give me some input?

Ok, we have 5,000+ members, and nobody has done this?

the SLP bilsteins will actually work more poorly with the prokit than the HDs. Are they better than stock deCarbons? Yes. Are they going to work better than the HDs for these stiffer springs? No.

I suggest you go with HD's as a minimum for the prokit.

I'm just gonna return the Eibachs I got from Thunder Racing and go with the SLP Eibachs and SLP Bilsteins. Then I'll use the credit from TR for new swaybars hehe

Hey man, I just installed the Eibach Pro-Kit and Bilstein HDs, and Energy Suspension endlinks up front (since the stock ones snapped when I was taking them off). The ride is not very harsh at all. I've already put about 150 miles or so on it. I live in WV so I've got some rough roads here. The ride quality isn't bad at all. It's riding smoother now that the stock suspension was at 50,000 miles. The only time you really feel any harshness is in the potholes at like 45mph. Handling is definitely better now too.

I'm not worried about the ride being harsh. I'm looking for durability as well. I've heard too many people say the Eibach/ HD combination doesn't last very long. The SLP EIbachs and Bilsteins are softer, but I already have the SLP STB and BMR PHR, and am planning to add BMR swaybars and tunnel brace and SLP SFC's, so by the time I'm done it should be plenty stiff anyway. Besides, SLP's coupon this month is for 10% off suspension products lol

Please, even the SLP kit is HARSH. I feel every little thing in the road here in Norfolk where the roads are awful at best. If your car is a DD I'd rethink how stiff you go with your suspension or you might regret it. Of course it all depends on where you live and what kinda places you travel too. Back home my roads are smooth like glass but get any where close to a city and you start feeling the pain of having performance suspension, trust me I've had my kit on for over 5k miles now! Nevertheless you will love the handling ability and how stiff the front end is, no more bouncing! Let us know how it works out man.

I never said it wasn't harsh. That was silva. I don't mind harshness. Besides, my stockers have 112K on them, and that's pretty harsh anyway lol

I said it wasn't that harsh. I know a little about rough roads, ours are terrible. The freeze joints in the highway are a little more noticable, but it hasn't bothered me any. I just drove 2 hours today and had no regrets about the ride. Like I said, the harshness doesn't really show until you drive over something 2 inches deep or so.

I feel your pain. Alabama's roads are by far the worst I've ever driven on, so harsh is a common thing no matter what you drive. But I'm willing to trade a little rougher ride for the looks and handling of lowering it. Besides, I'm beginning to run out of mods, and this will keep me busy for a while lol

if I'm correct, the SLP Eibachs are for V8s, they would be a stiffer spring rate than the pro-kit that is for the v6.
