• RE 750

currently have 235/55R16 Goodyears and replacing them with
Potenza RE750 225/55R16 95W.

Yeaa, im going a little smaller, this tire does not come in a 235, and i dont want to upgrade to a 245 because of the smaller sidewall. Factory I came with 215s i believe, not y87 235s.

What your opinion on this size? The size is a small price to pay for what im getting out of this tire. One hell of a tire

245s will not have a smaller side wall. The 55 or 50 is just a ratio of tire width to sidewall height. The sidewall will be the same if you get 245/50R16.

Do i have 16s or 16x8s?

With 235s, 55-R16s, they are real close to rubbing, but if i step up to 245s 50-R16, would they rub in the front, turning radius?

Doesnt a Bigger tire put more strain on the Power Steering pump?

I would run nothing smaller than P245/50, and P245/50 has a 0.1" smaller total height, its miniscule and undetectable.

a P255 tire on our car is a *small* tire for it. We can run up to P285s with no problems, past that the rim offset determines scrubbing.

P255 on stock 16x8s
P275 on 17x9 or wider
P315 on 17x11

Our cars love wide tires :D

My 1997 firebird came with 16X8's and 215/60/16's. I put 4 245/50/16's on the stock rims and thay fit fine.Next time i get tires it will be 255's.
