i just got potenza 245/50's put on...will my speedo read faster or slower than what i'm really doing?
i looked at the tack when i went to the limited in first gear...maybe there was tach lag...but it only indicated about 5900 or so rpms
The 245/50's will read about 2% faster than the 235s. Of course, the speedo may read high or low with the 235s, also, so I don't know what you're "really doing". A GPS receiver will tell you that easily.
If you want to know how I figured that out: Diameter of the 245/50s is about 16inchesX25.4mm per inch + 245mmX.5X2(sidewalls) = 651.4mm. The 235/55s, 16X25.4 + 235X.55X2 = 664.9. 664.9/651.4 = 1.02.
The tire manufacturers websites will give you more exact diameters.
