Tire size w/ lowered car

Hey guys....here's the current setup:

99 Firebird, with 245/50/16 tires. I've got the factory chrome 16's. My car is lowered 1.2 inches in the front, and 1.7 inches in the back. The car has the w68 package so it has ground effects as well. So it's pretty low.

Now next saturday I'm buying the mags. Found a place where I can buy the 2000 c5 mags for 595 a wheel (canadian dollars). Those are for chrome 17's all the way around. Now what tire size do you recommend? Will I have any troubles with rubbing since it's lowered?

275-40-17 or 285-35/40-17. since the rims are 9.5 wide, the 285's will look good on there too. I hope you have an adj. phr in the rear, cuz the tires may rub back there if the rear end isn't centered.

what exactly does a phr do? how much does it cost?

it centers the rear end and helps you get better traction. An adjustable one is used when the car is lowered. they run between 125-250 bucks.
