I'm new to the form so if this has been addressed I apologize. I have a 97 Firebird (no mods yet) with rear disc brakes. I hit a pot hole and a squeak developed in the passenger wheel at the speed of 20 mph or above and when I hit bumps or rough road. My thought is maybe a wheel bearing got mashed? Any ideas

Go out and firmly grab your tire at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, and try to push the front in and the back out, then try to pull the front outwards and the back inwords. Get what I mean? Just try to jiggle and turn the wheel, if there is any play, then it could be the bearings.\'96 Camaro Convertible

Got this same problem. I took the vehicle to the Pontiac Dealer. They claim the squeak is due to the vehicle being older with low low miles 22000 for a 1997 Firebird. The rear disc brakes have developed rust and when the vehicle hits rougher road the brake squeak due to them moving slightly and making contact. The squeak is very noticeable if you place the emergency brake slightly while moving.
Has any one heard of this before? Or did I get a line of And any suggestions to get rid of this problem?

After slightly using your brakes all rust will go away off the rotors - this is not the problem.
Does the squeek occur while driving or only when braking?
How long has it been squeeking?
Do you have any aftermarket suspension parts on the vehicle?2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
