Is this site correct...(http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)...I'm kinda confused because when you change the width on the tires (235/245/etc...) the thing says ur speedometer is wrong, which i thought wasnt effected by width...only profile and rim size.

when u read tires, u see 245-50-16 for example. the 1st number is the tire width, the 2nd number is the sidewall height, which is a percentage of the width of the tire, and the 3rd is rim size. so, when trying to figure out tire height, u gotta look at it like this.....
245 times the sidewall, so 245 times .50, which get's u the sidewall, but u have 2 sidewalls, so multiply by 2. that'll get u the combined sidewall heights, but they'll be in millimeters, so to convert it to inches, u have to divide by 25.4. then u can add the rim size and get total tire diameter. the formula looks like this.....
((width x .sidewall height x 2)/25.4)+ rim size= tire diameter2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!
