Depends. On your driving pattern (city, highway, stop and go, etc.) And on your driving style (gentle stops, agressive stops).
I have 76000 miles on my original pads... Most (first 50k) of those miles were highway miles put on in the first two years.\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next
v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock
v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp
Moderator on www.mtfba.org and www.frrax.com (Road Race & Autocross)
Car pics, TN Region SCCA

85k on originals, and they still look good. I would think if you have an a4 you will use your brakes more than an m5.97 Silver Bird
3.8 M5 Bone Stock Engine
15.528 @ 88.96 bone stock
www.fbodyenhancements.com/

Wow, 85k on stock pads? Insane ... I have an A4, and my fronts started squeaking at 30k miles!! I just got an OEM replacement, but if I could do it all over again, I'd do GM DuraStops.Edward D.
1997 Firebird A4 - Black Metallic
SLP CAI, Decoma 3\" Catback
BMR SFCs, 1LE sway bars
some other stuff
