• tires and rims....

Well, I do not know if this should be in appearance or if it belongs here in handling. I guess it would kinda go in both. Well, let me get to my question. I'm tring to decide if I should get 17" rims for my car. I currently have 16" with the standard hubbies. I get a lot of good comments out of the hubbies surprisingly(maybe it's where the hubbies are silver and they match the color of my camaro). But, there are a few of my friends that think that I should get real rims. I know rims would be a nice feature on the car but, I'm going for the sleeper look. And I fig. that there is no better cover up than to have those hubbies on my car instead of rims. Ok, if I did go to rims i would get 17" rims with 275/40 tires. If I stay with my 16" hubbies I'm going to go to 245/50, both of the tire selections are speed rated for 148+. So, I'm stuck wondering. If I did get the 17" rims then my car would not really look like a sleeper(would it??). If I did stay with the current rims with the hubbies it would be a total sleeper car. I'm just worried when I start pushing high amounts of HP that the poor hubbies will fly off(is that possible??). All comments are welcome, I need some help on deciding what I should get. I'll be making the purchase about the middle of Feb. Also, I'm fearing that the 17" rims with the 275/40 tires would make me lose more HP than the 245/50 due to all the friction they would create since they are so wide.

If you want to retain the sleeper (factory) look then just get some factory rims. This way you don't have to worry about any hubcaps.

The hubbies are definately not going to fly off. They are "deluxe bolt-on wheels covers." Atleast that is what they said on my window sticker, LOL. I always thought about keeping the hubbies for the sleeper look, but i just HAD to get new wheels and I definately don't regret it. Wheels totally make a car. They give it the stance and stance is everything!
