another question?

I saw on ebay a suspension set that consisted of 1LE front sway bar,2struts, 2 shocks,and 4springs for $200. is this a good deal? also is the install something I would have to get a shop to do? I know I can do the sway bar. how much do you think it would run to have a shop install the rest? thanks.

im not sure that I would change the sway bar. thats designed for the v8. ask v6bob or somebody more knowledgeable about them.

you should be able to do the rear shocks and springs yourself. Get a shop to do the fronts. You can save some by pulling the assembly out and taking just that to a shop and get them to put the new spring and strut in, then re-install them yourself. I would guess not more than $100 doing it that way.

for future reference, I wouldnt post direct links to really great deals on ebay till after the auction is over. why make more competition for yourself.

i did the fronts myself the other night, took me 10 hours by myself. i had to go to sleep and start again in the morning, so basically, started at 6, went to bed at 11:30, got up at 7 and finished around like 11:00 to 12:00 somewhere... it was all pretty easy until you get to the compressing part... that is a PITA!!!!!! but im glad i did it myself, saved me 275 bucks. that was the cheapest quote i got from like 4 places... anyways rent some strut compressors from autozone or somthing it really not all that hard, you will need a hammer/mallet and a socketset metric and standard, some wrenches, a cresent or two, a breaker bar and a lot of something to drink... make sure you follow a guide, theres a really good LS1 how to somewhere that has like major pictures and stuff, it was kind of fun, just tighten everything down really good when your done lol
