  • Winter Tires

So in preparation for a New England winter, I picked up a set of winter tires. Michelin Arctic Alpin 215/60QR16. These aren't going to throw off my speedo at all are they? They're the only size Tire Rack recommended for winter wheels. But when I got them delivered, they seemed to be much lower profile. I haven't put them up against my stock wheels to see if there's a height difference (haven't unpackaged them yet in case I have to return them), so I figured I'd run them by the most knowledgeable group I know. Thanks in advance.

If your car came with 55 or 50 series tires then going to a 60 series sidewall will make your speedo off a bit. What size came with your car stock?

Depends on the width, also. 215/60, 235/55, and 255/50 are all about the same diameter.
