• Rack and Pinion???

Is their really a difference between the V6 rack and pinion and the V8? The dealership told me I should upgrade my V6 one to a V8. They said it would give better response. Whats the difference???

The Y87 steering rack is the same as the V8 steering rack, its something like 2.27 turns lock to lock. The stock V6 rack is a little slower at 2.6 turns lock to lock IIRC.

The response is slightly better with the V8 rack, but its almost a whoopdeedo thing If you really need it, you'll know you need it. For everyday driving, its probably no big deal. The V6 rack is easier to drive at highspeeds down the interstate though, less twitchy.
