  • Installed torque arm bushing

I did the torque arm bushing today, what a PITA. I followed the install guide from install university but still took about 4 hours.

If I were to do it again I would definatly take all the load off the rear axle as the arm is a lot harder to move with it loaded.

Also watch out when you remove the retaining bracket, there is a lot of force built up in there. I almost broke my finger and I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose my fingernail from smashing it in between the floor pan and the arm.

I don't know how much of a difference I will see, I didn't feel anything at all while driving, we'll see when I get to the track the next time.

Geez dude, I don't know what you did.
My torque arm didn't move at all, nearly. I ran the front of the car up on ramps, and worked from there (left the rear on the ground). I was using a chisel at first, but then switched to a dremel and sliced through those rivets and brackets like butter. Then lubed the new poly mount, slid it on, and pulled the arm down, no lost finger. Perhaps the rear should be left down? (I was actually very worried -- didn't know if leaving the rear down would make the arm really want to move up (And through the floorboard?)

I drove it up on ramps, then lifted the rear by the pumpkin, supported it and left off a little load off the axle.

I unbolted the retaining bracket and took it off and was surprised that it didn't move at all. I left down my guard and tried to move the arm out of the way and it sucked my poor little finger up with it into the floor.

I guess I just have some bad luck, then it took me forever to change the bushing and replace the bracket, mostly cause of my busted finger.

Maybe the ES bushing is an better fit than the prothane. I don't know.

Well, either way, I'm glad you still have your finger, and you put the bushing on.
