• HELP! How do I get my rotors off?

I've been beating and banging on my rotors for a half an hour and they will not budge. My cars a 2002 so there isn't a whole lot of rust on the rotors I have on there currently. Am I missing something?

I had the same problem with the passenger side rear.

Take a metal bar and lay it across the hub between the bolts. Then take 2 c-clamps and put one side of the clamp on the bar and the other on the axle. Tighten them very slowly. When mine popped off the axle it sounded like a gunshot.

If you have the calipers off... spray some liquid wrench or other rust cutter, wait a bit, and take a rubber faced hammer and slap the back of the rotor, should pop right out.

Can also smack the **** out of them with a rubber mallet (in the middle not the sides lol). Thats how we had to get some of them off at work.

Figured it out... 98 and up have to remove the e-brake cable. As soon as I did that they slipped right off. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hmm, that seemed obvious, didn't it? Silly 98 cars and their... fancy e-brake
