• Wheel Weights now posted

Wheel weights are now available on my website under suspension tech.

Here is what I have so far:
Wheel Weight (lbs.)
WS6/ZR1 (chrome) 20.25
10 Spoke SS (painted) 20.5
10 Spoke SS (chrome) 21.0
Firehawk (painted) 22.0
Firehawk (chrome) 23.0
Firebird/Z28 16" (painted) 19.5
C5 Front 20.5
C5 Rear 23.0
Mille Miglia 17x9 25.5

You'll note those cheap Mille Miglias from tire rack are not light, I dont recommend them.

pgriffith, I picked up a 15x12 drag light before w/one hand. Not too heavy at all. 15x8 should be alot less. Not sure what the actual weight is. Would guess less than 15lbs. Cold forged alum is sweet! :D

here is some stuff i collected at one point:

this is the c5 (thin spoke) from performance wheel outlet:

performance wheel 250 17x? 22 lbs

g2 couldnt give me an exact weight on their c5 replica rims so this is an estimate including the weight of the shipping box:

g2 c5 replica 17x8.5 ~25.6 lbs

12second says this is the weight for the stock wheels and it seem right:

stock 16x8 19 lbs

slp told me that the firehawk was the following:

firehawk 17x9.5 20 lbs

from the guys at autumn fleet sales:

afs zr-1 replica 17x9.5 20.5

some tire weights (from dunlop's website) just to give an idea what a total wheel might weigh:

sp sport 5000 245/50R16 27 lbs
sp sport 5000 245/45R17 25.8 lbs

dominic, what c5's are you quoting @ 20 lbs? the thick spokes c5's on slp website?

I was just about to ask the weight of the ZR-1/SS rims,.,.,. So I should expect the painted SS 5-spoke to weight .5 less than chrome(like the 10 spoke)?? and it should be 19.75lbs???

I just read the other day, where someone said the 10 spokes weigh 2lbs less than the 5 spoke SS wheels,.,.,.

As in me?
I've never weighed any of my rims w/o tires.
I have however weighed all my rim and tire packages together.

i believe you estimated the rim weight knowing the weight of the tire. its seems pretty close. i checked against mine and its 19 lbs to within the accuracy of the scale (about .5 lbs)

16x8 are light -- less metal. 17x19.5 is a bigger rim, weighs about a 1 lb more but the tire weighs about a pound less.

i would like to get a real weight for the g2 replica rims instead of the 'in the box' weight. these are supposed to be 'light' but i have difficulty in accepting a 4 lb box.

WTF. My buddy has 15inch rims, which yes i realise are smaller than 16, but his rims are only 9 pounds! Is there any set of rims that i can buy that weight around 15 pounds? I want like stockish size.
