I've been looking around for some good rims for the ride in the far future. I really like the Z06 replicas that are 17x9 up front and 18x10 in the back but I've heard 18s are too much for a 3.4 and would be more hurt than help. I know I want something wide. Like the SSs kinda. I like 5 spoke and the 10 spokes that are zo6 style. But where would be the best place to gather info and whats a good size for a 3.4 to move?

THe lighter the wheel the better, you just have to make sure it clears the brakes. 17 is the biggest I would go if your concerned about performance AND style... You could get all 4 17inch Z06 Wheels or the 17 inch SS wheels. CHrome is also heavy.. So you might want to get aluminum and clearcoat etc...

I agree, 17s are all you should get for practicality and performance reasons. If you are looks only, go 18s if you like them - nothing is stopping you - but you'll lose some serious acceleration with them unless they cost an armload.
Best of luck.
Oh, and I hear anything much over 17x10 in the rear can scrub a bit, so you might want to stick with 9.5s max for peace of mind. P285/40 is really wide you know :D
Oh yeah and a 17X9 will accomodate a 285 just fine, I have 2 of them in my shed and they are very similiar in size. And a 10 inch wheel *might* require a different offset to fit and may rub, like Dominic said. There are MANY reasons that I suggest getting all four wheels and tires the same size, and I think Dominic will agree with me in that. First and foremost is Rotation: To get the most out of your money, you need to rotate. Good luck.
What I would do:
I suggest 17X9s (Not Chrome) in all four corners and 275/40s as well, thats the biggest you can go all the way around and still rotate. Thats my opinion. If you really like chrome get it, but theres (again) a ton of reasons why not to get it.
