when i emailed bmr he said he did not recommend one for my car. i am still puzzled about that. edelbrock has one on sale now for less than $150 shipped. how can it be so much less than bmrs or spohns? would this benefit our cars? or should i stay clear of torque arms and save my money for something else?

Just one thing to note, I don't know if you have a 1 piece driveshaft but if you don't you'll have to change the torque arm. The reason is because the center support bearing for the 2 piece connects to the torque arm.
Should you get a torque arm? From what I understand you need one if you're running a decent amount of power. I have a Mac torque arm. It has a plate that you bolt up to the "U" shaped part of the floor. I didn't explain that well. But the torque arm bolts up to the plate instead of the transmission. I run some pretty decent times, actually better then what I should be running and I believe that to be because of the toque arm. I don't know what the Edlebrock looks like but 150 is a good price. I don't want to say get it or don't get it though because I'm not an expert, but it could only help.

I personally spent the $20 on a poly bushing and saved the rest for other mods.
I really don't think an upgraded arm is needed for the power that we put out. The main weakness is in the soft rubber bushing.1996 Silver Camaro, Y87, M5, cammed..
N/A Best Time: 14.012 @ 98.59
195 rwhp / 233 ft-lbs b/f heads/cam
Check out my site http://silver3800.cz28.com/

The stock torque arm can take you to 12s without hesitation, add a poly bushing if you want it to react faster 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
