  • 245s stick out?

Earlier tonight came out of a restaurant to see a 96-97 Camaro with SS type rims. The tires stuck out quite a bit and I went to check out the size and they were 245/50/16s.

I was seriously considering getting 245s next weeks since I really need tires but that Camaro look awful...

I have skinny 215s and I'd like the look of widder tires like how a Z looks but if its going to look like that.

I know the options I have are 215/60/16...235/55/16 and 245/50/16s. I'm looking at Potenza 950s but they dont have 235/55/16s.

Yeah, he most likely had spacers on that car.
I've run 275 40 17's in all four corners, 255 50 16's in all four corners, my et streets are 11.5 inches wide and they are fine also

I think it was just some guy that probably had a spacer or bought the wrong rims for his car...

                Check out these picts...

As you can see the rear wheel sticks out a minimal amount, whereas the front wheel doesn't stick out at all unless turned.

The only problems I have is,
1.) I drive like a d*ck, so I have to clean the rubber off from behind my rear wheel wells
2.) I think the 245's are too wide for the front, I can literally let go of my steering wheel and the car will guide itself along (small)cracks and dips in the road surface. I find myself constantly counter-steering this car. This is probably because of the tread pattern on the Kuhmo's I bought though. Spend the exra $$$ and get something better.

Just got my 245/50/16s put on earlier today. Doesn't stick out at all...well, I'm sure I'll get more crap slung on the back but its OK. Not used to how they feel though but thats expected from going from 215/60s to 245/50s.

Def. looks a lot better...bigger and meatier tirers = cool.

I guess I'm still not used to my new tires, I've been on the 215s for a long time. It feels kind of funny...almost as if they're less responsive and less stiff.

I doubt thats the real issue, its probably just me not used to them. I know I can take turns a lot faster and easier now though...

I love the way my 255/50/16's look. The 235/55/16's looked good also. I think 215's look too skinny on 4th gen F bodies (...unless you are driving around Alaska or something).

                              But that's just my opinion.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
