  • Brakes squeeking....or is it steering...

i dont know quite what is going on here. There is this squeeking noise that my car is making. It does it when I first push the brake pedal. It also does it when I first start the car moving AND when Im turning slowly.

    What gives?

Well...now that you mention it...My belt is pretty crappy. I need a new one bad. But would it slip while braking and accelerating slowly at low speeds? I understand why it would...but why would it slip while cornering?

How much pad do you have left? When you get to the squeeler bar, it squeels when you brake. I've also had it squeel when I turn.

I havent checked my pads yet, but they have at least 29K miles on them......lol

I know I need knew ones, but damn all this is expensive. Belt is like $35 and good pads are over $50.

How much are GM replacement pads? I want little squeeling and little brake dust.

What was the decision on wether ceramic pads were safe on stock rotors?

Ok so now that I replaced my belt, the exact opposite is happening,

Now, my front driverside tire, there is a squeeking noise that pulses, it gets faster the faster my wheel spins until at about 60 mph its just one long squeek. Now when I push the brakes, the squeeking stops! It also lessens when I turn.

WTF IS WRONG WITH MY CAR!?!?!

I've got a similar problem with my car. It makes a squeeking noise *only* when I turn the wheel to the left. It's basically the same noise that brakes can make sometimes. Here's the weird thing...on mine, when my car makes the noise while turning left, if I put my foot lightly on the brake the noise goes away.
