• Suspension problem?

I have a'98 Camaro with about 70,000 miles and all of the original suspension components. Whenever I hit a bump or a dip and the car springs back up, there is a loud popping sound from the rear of the car. It also happens when I turn into a driveway and one side of the car goes up; and occasionally when I brake hard, and the back of the car goes up. I've taken it to 2 places already anf they couldn't find anything wrong. The second guy said the bushings may be dried, so he lubricated them. It did not help though.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any causes or solutions?
Thanks.

I have experienced the same thing in my 94. I have about 58K miles on it. Unfortunately, I have not found a solution either. My suspension has become quite noisy recently. One side benefit is all the interior rattles seem less significant now the the added suspension noise

if its from the back more than likely it is your lower control arms, the bolts in particlular need to be torqued to the right specs. but i had mine suposedly torqued right, but it still makes the noise a little, so my advise to you is to spend like 100 bucks and gets some 1le lca's or some bmr lca's, but that is what that noise is more than likely, its just a problem on our cars

Call your dealer, ask them about a special service bulletin concerning your rear end noise, supposedly they place some type of rubber at the bottom of the springs to eliminate the noise. Not sure if they charge for this or not. I had my car in last week for the same problem and they said it was the exhaust hitting ,I knew it wasn't. I found this info at camaroZ28.com, after I got my car back of course. My car is going back to be fixed
Hope this helps you out.

In addition to the noises, I have also noticed that the car has been getting a lot more rear wheel hop (especially in the rain). Would that indicate that the problem is with the LCA's and not something like the springs or shocks? Or could the problem be solved simply by changing the bushings on the LCA's? Any thoughts or experiences?
