  • Lowering and clearence?

Ok guys i am totally new to the whole suspension thing so forgive me if i say some dumb things. I have been more for power. I have a 96 camaro with complete intake, exhaust, and ignition upgrades. My car came with 3.08 (auto) so i am getting lsd and 3.42 in it. I want to lower my car as the first suspension related thing. The thing is i have the TSP Rumbler exhaust and i am worried about it hitting the ground. Other than that can someone give me some sites to get a lowering kit and also is this the best suspension mod to do first? thanks for the help.

well my car is lowered 1.75 inches all around with Sprint Lowering Springs that i purchased off ebay for like 150 bucks, which is a pretty good price. Only clearance problem i have is the black baffle on the front of the car to scoop the air up into the radiator, scrapes quite often, but doesnt do any sort of damage. The first suspension upgrade would have to be springs obviously, and then sway bars and such. The springs you want all depend on what you're going for...stiffer springs are usually better for cornering, but may put you at a disadvantage in drag racing because it wont let your car "plant" itself as well off the line, so semi-stiff springs are better for that. I've had my Sprint springs on for about 2 or 3 months now and i honestly have no complaints, they help both in cornering and arent too stiff for the track...thats just my $.02, hope that was of some help to ya

I have the Eibach Pro-Kit with a 1.25" drop. My car actually scrapes less that it did before because the springs are stiffer. While you're doing springs, I would recommend shocks as well. If you do both at the same time, it saves on installation costs.
