can i just drop in some Eibach or H&R springs and not have to worry about getting shocks? Some of my ricer friends have done it for looks, am I gonna hurt my suspension in the long run with just springs or will I be ok??? Also does anyone have there car lowered with the W68 package, i mean i bottom out and scrap that thing up, i couldnt imagine how it would be lowered. oh well :D

next week i am going to lower mine with the pro kit, i got some decarbon take off shocks from slp to replace my shocks... everyone says you need to upgrade your shocks when you lower it... probably would be the best time to change shocks anyway since it will be all apart...

For general street use deCarbons are fine. I know many people running on them and using the Prokit and it doesn't *hurt* them much at all. There are better shocks to use with the prokit, but nothing in a lowdollar pricerange thats as good as the standard deCarbons.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

technically yes you can lower your car w/ just springs. however your car will bounce like crazy on little dips and bumps in the road. i replaced my shocks w/ the slp take-offs and they seemed to be alright. it's been almost 2 years since i had my h&r springs and take-off shocks and i think i might replace the shocks again soon. i would advise you get new shocks anyway b/c it will be a lot easier to install everything all at once. you will also want to look into an adj phr. i drove around for a couple of months w/o one and when i took right turns kinda fast, it felt like i fish-tailed, only the wheels didn't slide out. also the passenger side tire will be tucked in a lot while the driver side will be out a lot farther due to the rear end being shifted to the driver side. i also got lca-relocation brackets to play it safe.94 Firebird - Red A4
http://members.cardomain.com/predatorbird

ok i really dont have the money for shocks too, i just want a better stance with just springs, so pretty much i dont care about the bouncy ride as long as my shocks dont wear out prematurely due to the springs.2001 A4 Firebird
W68 package, 3.42s
My Car

They will wear no faster than they would if you had stock springs on the car, probably need replacing every 30,000-50,000 miles.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

my emphasis is on the first 2 words: probably need, see dominic, i have 70k on my car, stock v6 springs up front, and i just installed my z28 springs in the back. the ride feels great, i hear all the time the shocks wear out, and i believe you, but the ride quality is no different at all for everyday driving. my friend with a firebird with 16k has the same setup as me--no different whatsoever. the only difference is that my right rear shock makes a little creeking going over bumps...but that's it, not a difference at all at high speeds or anything. so please, to me and others, define why we "probably need" to replace our shocks if they have 50k+ miles on them, because as far as i can tell, it seems pretty re-damn-diculous to do that...2000 NBM M6 Camaro Z28
323/335
