  • replaced the disc pads tonite...

    Hello!

I replaced the disc pads tonite for a set from autozone for 16 bucks with a lifetime warranty... but heres my question, all I did was pull off the other ones , clamp the caliper so that it squeezed it closed so that I could stick on the new ones ( I monitored the fluid level, never overfilled) and stuck them on, piece of cake. Did I do this right? i took it out for 2 mins and it felt ALOT better... thanks!

Did you apply an anti-squeal coating to the back plates of the pads?

Did you apply caliper lube to the caliper bushings?

Both are not absolutely necessary ... but are good preventive maintenance practices.

If you get a little more money, as soon as those pads go bad (and they will very quickly) get some quietstops, i have the same brakes as you, and they're the cheapest you can get. For me they started squealing after a few weeks on brand new rotors. They create so much break dust it's unbelivable.
