  • Autozone Rotors and Napa Ceramix brake pads

Just got my front autozone rotors and my napa ceramix pads on last night. All i can say is WOW. Great braking and no noise/dust. I haven't been too hard on them yet so in another week or so when they've broken in well, i'm gonna really test them out. By the way a note on intallation...make sure you have a flat bladed screwdriver when you pull the caliper off because you have to use it to pry the caliper bolt sleeve away from the spindle. My buddy and I spent forever trying to unscrew the caliper bolts and take the caliper off and were getting so frustrated when we couldn't get the caliper off. Then we pried the sleeve away from the hole a little and viola!! it came right off. Hope this saves someone else a little time. BTW this was a 93-97 single piston caliper.

Thanks for posting this. Let us know what happens down the road. I have honestly wanted to get rid of my stock rotors and pads on my 99 Camaro and get rid of that chirping noise caused by the warped rear rotors. However, the cross drilled rotors are a bit pricey and didn't want to go that route if I didn't have to.

Any noise problems with the KVR Blanks? I think pads are the main cause for noise, but I think rotors can contribute too.

They are not to bad, my old roomate has had them for the least year and a half or so..

and now the squeek a tiny little bit, but there is this stuff this guy gave us at napa that will take care of that real quick. I dont know exatly what it was, i am kinda drawing a blank, but its not your nomal anti-squeek stuff.. I will try and remember to ask him and then post it..

its some kind of gell that dosent harden and then crack like the normal ****..

and the break dust on the kvr's is not great, but better then stock thats for dam sure..

Got new tires a few days ago. and i really have gotten a chance to test these brakes out since it has been raining for the last 3 days here. Very powerful and very controlled. I've slammed on the brakes several times and i haven't triggered antilock once. Two thumbs up.

NAPA's ceramic brake pads work great, I've had them for over a year. They brake better and leave a lot less dust on my crome wheels. The only problem is that any ceramic brake pad will create a lot more heat, so this warped the heck out of my stock rotors on the front. I turned them twice and said forget it and got a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors fro NAPA, and no more problem. These rotor would cost the regular public a bit, but since my dad works for NAPA, I get part for cost + 10%, and many free bees, including the rotors and my dynomax cat back.
