8 inch wide rims. smallest and biggest width sizes?

wuts the smallest and widest tires that can fit on an 8 inch wide rim? also wuts the best side if i have 18 inch rims for the height of the tier??? 35, 45?? thanks

Widest id go with is 245, go with a 40 series side wall, i think thats what works the best
