I am on the borderline of possibly purchasing a set of 17" ZO6 rims. They're 9.5" wide. Whats the widest tire ya'll would reccomend for our cars? I dont want something that is going to rub. on and BTW, my car is lowered a good 1.5" if that helps at all. thanks in advance for the help.

I'd say 285/40-17.... They'll look good!99 camaro... You can go 315/40/17 on a 9.5 rim. It'll fit, but I wouldn't recomend it just because those tires are about 30 dollars more a piece than 275, 285, or 295 tires.2001 Camaro, 3.8 v6. Five speed. Red. SLP Torque arm, SLP CAI, adj. panhard bar, lcas, eibach springs, 3.73 gears and Zexel-Torsen T-2 LSD.

Perhaps you should learn a little more about how wheels, tires, and offsets work. If you buy wheels that are not the correct offset then yes they will rub... if you buy the correct wheels for your car then you will not have any problem with 17x9 wheels rubbing at all.
