I got these tires mounted yesterday they kick A$$ they dont rub no matter how you turn they stick to corners like glue. Now i had the god forsaken 215-60's befor so this is a rather large difference. The ONLY bad thing i have to say about them is that they walk over the road quite a bit. but i can handle that for some awesome traction. so they get [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] from me. Oh and they look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better now

Yeh when i am doing 80 mph my speedo shows 79 !! wtf no big deal and the slower you go the less it affects it. It doesnt change the ride hight much but it does fill in alot of wheel well gap because of the widthAIS 2 OHH the memories... Okay, if it affects the odometer then I have another question. could be. But you would have to change the tire size signifigantly to see any major changes in the milage.

no not really when you think about it.. what is an odometer reading?? well it tells you how far the car has gone, but more importantly how much the car was run...
so:
it takes x number of motor revolutions to go 50k miles...with stock tire height
with say a 5% taller tire it should take 5% less engine revolutions to go the same 50k miles.. ..so the odometer would only show 47500 miles when in reality the car has covered a distance of 50k but only had the wear of 47500
but here is the flaw in all these assumptions..
mileage is not necessarily an accurate measure of the use of an engine.. a more accurate way to measure use would be an run time clock.. measure the number of hours on an engine like they do with heavy equipment and boat engines..

just want to add this is really generalized.. and assumptions have been made to keep it simple.. just thought I'd add this last part to keep the more picky technical people happy.. ;)

I got new tires today 255 50 ZR16 to replace the original 235 55 R16's. The improvement is not as noticeable as from 215/60's, but still good!
It all started as a flat tire - but the tires were almost all worn out, so I knew it would happen sooner or later. Fortunately, I had no pressing appointment, plus I parked in the shade - nice for changing the tire. First time I'nve used the jack on the car. They've improved them alot over the 3rd gen's jack. In addition, the lug wrench actually fits correctly (the third gen's wrench did not fit so good). AND - the jack fit perfectly right under the W68 ground effects.
