I have a chance to buy a set of Eibach 1"1/4 lowering springs for around 100 cdn. Is this a good buy? They are from a 1995 Z28 and I have a 1996 V6. Do I need new springs if I decide to install these? How much will they lower my car...

But personally, I am purposely installing LS1-matched Eibach springs onto my V6. They will be much better than stock - maybe not as good as if I used V6-matched Eibachs. But I plan on swapping over to an LS1, so to me its better handling (maybe not as good as absolutely possible) but without a skid-pad test I doubt you'll ever feel a difference. And less work once the LS1 is in place - the springs are already set up for it.

The Eibachs V8 specs give a few more lbs/in and therefore would not lower your car the full 1 1/4in. Mine was lowered about 1 in. Yes I am using Eibachs V8 springs.
