I need snow tires bad.
first snowfall today and i couldnt get any trac
what do you guys think is a good snow tire for the money?
plus whould it matter if i had 215 60 16's on the back for snow tires and kept my 235 55 16 Potenzas on the front. any problem with having narrower tires in the back????
thanks

If you can afford it, you really should get snow tires in the front also. Because of weight transfer, most of your breaking is done by the front wheels. So it really is best to have snow tires on all four wheels.

To your question, it will work to have diffrent sizes on the front and the back.

Billy understates the case for four snows. What good is it to go, if you can't turn or stop?

Good snow tires have a snowflake on the sidewall. Inexpensive ($75) examples are Dunlop Graspic or Firestone Winterfire. Blizzaks will set you back a little over $100.

I used Dunlop snow tires before and they worked great!

I have a set of four Michelin Arctic Alpins in the P215 60s and they go great in the snow, especially if I put about 100 lbs. of weights in the trunk.

Bought them from the Tire Rack last year online for around $85.00 apiece. They make a great dry and rain tire also.

I had the same prob. Second gear start helps a bit, but I was definately working on my winter driving skills. I think that I am going to get some blizzaks from bridgstone, I have heard good things about them. On the same note, I will be adding some serious weight to the rear.

I just got snow tires 215/60/60 Michelin Artic Alpin. They are so much better than my RE90's
I can acually start off in the snow!!!!!!!!!!

I am buying from the tirerack.com: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...&performance=W

They only have two choices for my 215/60R16 size, Firestone WinterFires and Michelin Artic Alpines

Which tire do you think is better? Right now, I am leaning towards the Firestones because of the better customer feedback. Thanks guys

EDIT: I ****ing hate this UBB **** right now that isn't ****ing working
