  • PA racing K-member

i was wondering if anyone uses an aftermarket k-member, if you are please tell me how your steering is, if the lose of 75lbs made a differnce and how hard was the install?

Read this http://robmeadway.com/fbodysuspguide.html it has some info about aftermarket K-members down at the bottom. Basically if you get the K-member from PA get the road race option but personally i have come to the conclusion that an aftermarket K is not a worthwhile or wise mod unless you plan on the car being for track use only in which case turning is not a priority.

You will get no noticable gain or loss from an aftermarket K-member other than weight loss. And yes, it would be hard to install. I had mine installed for me. My suggestion would be to find a reputable body shop to install it because they tend to have lower hourly rates than regular auto shops.

well the reason i was looking into this was because i was planning on putting a turbo in over the summer and with a tubular K-member i would have alot more room to run my piping.

but there are really no adverse affects other than the install and unless i get the roadrace option it is too weak for everyday driving?

I personally would not put even the road race version on my car. The stock K is stronger than any of the tubular aftermarket versions and for me a K-member is a terible place to make things weaker. It is up to you though and if reducing weight is what you are after the K will lower your weight more than pretty much any single other part. I would recomend getting tubular upper a-arms and the G2 lower a-arms instead if you want to lower weight. As for the turbo piping i understand because i had looked into this for my turbo system but decided that strength was more important. Look at the incon kit if you want to look into other ways to rout the piping without going under the K.

The K-member would definitely open up lots of space for what you are planning, definitely go for it.
