  • Rear springs of 1997 trans am

    I have a few questions,
-are 1997 trans am reat springs really 1" lower then stock firebird springs(1995),
    -will i see a noticable difference w/a 1" drop,
-would just changing the springs in the back and not in the front be ok
-i current have 18" rims in the back and 17" in the front (looks kind of like a drag car, will the 1" drop in the back be enough to make the font and back look normal
-and finally how much would this cost to install
Sorry for all the questions but your help is really appreciated

I don't think the springs ride hight are any different. The Trans Am springs would just be stiffer.

Changing rear springs are very simple, you don't have to compress them out. They just sit in there.

"would just changing the springs in the back and not in the front be ok"

I think putting stiff (130-170 lbs/in) rear springs on a 95 V6 with very soft (224 lbs/in) front springs would cause oversteer. Bad idea.
