    Im soon going to be going with some new brakes on my '99 Bird due to the fact my front rotors are badly warped and have quite a few heat fractures. Ive done a few searches but havent found the answers i was looking for...
    What kind of brake rotor/pad combinations do you guys recomend? Im kindof a newbie as far as brakes go so im not sure whether slotted/cross drilled is worth the money. I was looking at the powerslot rotors, as well as the baer eradispeed rotors
    any help in choosing would be appreciated, also, what brake pads would be recomended? i want to get low brake dust pads because i hate cleaning brake dust from my nice shiny rims...lol
    anyhow, thanks for any help

    After many, many combinations, the combo that worked best for me is factory pads with factory rotors. Crossdrill the rotors before installation.

      id say go with GM durastop rotors and HAWK brake pads. the eradispeeds are good but wont hold up to hard auto x racing but for street they are ok, powerslots suck, mine warped within 5000 miles.!!i got they baer track kitand they are sweet! [img]graemlins/fluffy.gif[/img]

        I would get the baer brake rotors with some EBC red, yellow, or green pads or some hawk pads. You could also try the raybestos rotors and pads, they hold up pretty well and don't produce that much dust. It all depends on how much your willing to pay.

          not to be rude or anything but all of the responses thus far are from pre 98 guys.. the brake setup on 98+ is different and the options are different. Personally I don't have an answer for you but I'm unsure of the availability of the options discussed thus far for a 98+ car..

            LG Motorsports is in the process of releasing some upgraded rotors. A couple of guys have tried them on a road course with good results. Check LS1.com and CamaroZ28.com for there handling, or road racing and autocrossing sections.

              I replaced my front and rear rotors together. I got mine from www.policerotors.com. They sell Raybestos rotors that they then cryogenically treat (like heat treatment to harden them, but in the opposite temperature range). I got cross-drilled and slotted fronts, and standard rears. $550 for the rotors, cryo treatment, and shipping to California. I use Raybestos Brute Stop pads up front and PGMs on the rears (the Brute Stops dust a lot, but they stop good).
              I had the Hawks on my 95 Camaro, they stopped really good, and didn't dust much, but they're more expensive for 98+ Camaros (I think like $90+ a set for the front, and $100+ for the rears), and the Raybestos pads have the limited lifetime warranty through Kragens, so I can get them replaced for free :D .
              I've had the rotors on for 3000+ miles now, and no problems at all. I drive about 1100 miles a week, a lot at 80+ mph (freeway and street), so they get a good work out.
