• I want to KILL bodyroll

My bodyroll is horrible. I have the 1LE bars but they didn't help in terms of the body rolling and sloshing the weigh dist everywhere. At AutoX, my bodyroll kills my ability to be smooth and execute a corner as well as it could be taken.

What is the best, cheapest way of doing this. A slightly lowered stance would be nice as well.

Springs and shocks. 1LE springs and Bilstein HD shocks. If you want to lower then you'll have to look at adjustable shocks.

I'd go with the Koni DA shocks. A friend of mine has a '98 1LE Z28 w/those and they absolutely rock (despite the fact that ride quality sucks, but who's looking at ride quality?). The 1LE springs would compliment them quite nicely, too. I think the Koni's would work even better if you plan on lowering the car, since you can adjust them to your liking.

Dom, Fin, thanks for your straight forward and informative answers.

Adjustable shocks are out of my budget (especially since I'm not that serious about AutoX) but I still appreciate the opinion.

          Patrick.
I don't want to lower the car anymore than .5". I already have SFCs, a STB, I don't see why LCAs would help since I'm not lowering it, and shocks - not very specific there but yes I'll do the Bilstein HDs most likely.

The single biggest change you can do is the Suspension Techniques 35mm solid front bar. I strongly advise against their rear 25mm bar, the combination has way too much oversteer, even for autocross, much less the street. Sam Strano has them for a good price. It will make a big difference. I'd ask Sam for a shock recommendation.

You could go with stiffer springs, also. That will likely be too much roll resistance (yes, that's possible) and cause your car to be twitchy, especially in wet weather.

I'd try the 35mm bar first. If that doesn't get you where you want to be, shocks. I'd be surprised if that wasn't enough. Springs on top of that would create an autocross car that would possibly be unsafe on the street, particularly in wet weather.

              Bob -

Thanks for your say as well.

So, what should I do with my current rear sway bar if I went with the 35mm? As I said, I have the 1LE setup on front and back - which is what - 21mm rear I guess?

So just to clarify - ditch the 32mm bar, go with a 35 and see how I like that? And if that's not enough - go with some ...lets say.. Bilstein HDs?

              Thanks!

That's my thoughts. But I'm no expert and i especially don't know what the best shocks would be. That's why I recommended Strano for shock suggestions.

Heh, got your answer right here. You've already got some good parts on there, might as well make them more efficient.

I agree with Shadley that good bushings/endlinks will help. The ST 35mm bar comes with a complete set for the front bar.

                      HI,

We carry the 35mm ST bar($139). BTW I have the 35/25 setup on my car and it is AWESOME. however if you Autox keep the 1LE rear bar and go with the 35mm front only. BUT beware the 35mm weighs around 40lds!!!

I also have the Koni single adjustables ($699) They are awesome too and about half the price of double adjustables. I Am just using the stock springs, Now I have no body roll, no nose dive on breaking and no front end lift off. I highly highly highly recommend this setup for autox and street driving but not drag racing.

Also the konis allow you to lower your front end by about 1/2 inch in the front because of the adjustable spring perch.
