  • Why do my brakes squeek at 11.000 miles?

I just got the car almost a month ago, it is a 1998 and I am aproaching 12,000 mile soon and when I hit the brakes it sounds like the front ones are the ones making the noise, it is not all the time, just cirtin timew when they are on, I am not hard on brakes and if I hit them very lightly they dont do it but it would take a mile to stop. They seem to grab very well, and dont pull to any side when I have my hands off the wheel. I dont know if it is possible to where them out with such few miles, I have only got it up to 80 and when I hit them they dont feel warped, the wheel feels firm and the pedel doesent shake.
What could it be? If I cant think of it soon, I am thinking about just geting them re-done the next time I need my oil changed. Any sugestions?

normal noise. either semimetallic squeal or high-speed glazing that result in harmonic vibration. you can pull the pads off, buff the friction surface, and put some brake quiet solution on the backs of the pads. or you could just switch to ceramic pads. if you know pad thickness is okay and the noise doesn't drive you crazy, i'd say just live with it until its time for front brakes.
