I'm planning on getting some SFC and I want to know which is better, bolt-on's or weld-on's? Also which brand to get? I'm leaning more towards Kenny Brown DD, or SLP. I've already searched this tpoic and cannot find the answers I'm looking for. My car is lowered two inches also. If I get weld on's, what do I do to take them off, will it mess up the my underside of my car if I cut them off? Need some help! Please not smart remarks

I would also like to know more about SFCs, as I would like to get them for my birthday. What about the LG Motorsports ones? Don't they have a V or X brace?
I will not be racing; I just want better handling and less rattles--David--
The NEW V6Bird Website!
Cardomain site
ΔX

I would recommend anything that is welded. BMR usually is a pretty good bargain, thats what I got. Up to you just make sure to get SFC that are welded. :eek:Red 1999 Firebird M5
Whisper Lid,Borla Catback,K&N,Dual Friction Center Force Clutch,Hurst Shifter w/Lou\'s Short Stick,!FRA,Suncoast Ramair hood,160 Thermo,!maf,Chrome ZO6 Wheels, Painted Calipers, CIA Headers, Taylor Wires, NGK Spark Plugs, 3\" Catco, Jet Chip Stage II, BMR STB, LCA, PHR, SFC, Fan Switch, FTRA
Old Dyno Numbers: 183 RWHP, 217 RWTRQ
http://community.webshots.com/user/redsixer

Welding is obviously stronger than bolting, and the sfcs see considerable strain.
Most everyone likes their sfcs, it's hard to find bad ones. The worst problem would be poor fit, and that doesn't seem to come up much.
Most important. They need to be installed by a pro. The car needs to be lifted on its' wheels, otherwise you're liable to twist the chassis and then weld the twist in.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

just for a little added info I have been looking into kenny brown double diamonds and install at places that have done them before have varied between 200, 225, 250 and 300. The guy that quoted 200, said it would be a little less with a different SFC but since they require a little more work 200.-Brad

honestly from what I have heard any subframe connector is a great improvment, personally I like the kenny brown dd's because they also have a part that welds to the rear floorpan .. from what I have seen they are proably overkill but I like overkill and I want my car as stiff as humanly possible without having to resort to a cage..
I will be doing sfc's because I will be keeping my car for a long time so long as nobody sideswipes me and I don't want rattles.. plus Louisiana has like the 2nd or 3rd worst roads in the country and it really beats up my car, I think of these sfc's as just a little added insurance..
also if you want to get something that seems to look alot like KB DD's do a search on ebay for "subframe" someone is selling some made by www.hotparts.com, you might want to give them a try.. they seem to be copies of KB DD's I'm not sure about them so I'm willing to pay 50 or so more $$ for something I know of that has a better reputation..-Brad
