My friend and I are currently doing a brake job on my car, and I need to get the rotors turned. However, the passenger side rear rotor won't come off. We've jolted it around a lot and it just won't come off. We suspected rust was holding it on and sprayed WD-40 almost everywhere rust could be the culprit. The damn thing just won't come off. Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

get a big hammer and wack that thing as hard as you can. Its not gonna hurt the rotor too much even if you hit it where the pads sit. Try hitting it around where the studs come through the rotor but DO NOT hit the studs. YOu mess those up and your gonna have a problem. a couple good shots with a hammer and it should break loose.2001 Black S10 Xtreme 4.3L A4
*RedLineVSix*
\"Throwin sparks, draggin frame\"

Nope, sorry, we've been beating the crap out of it with a rubber hammer. Still solid as a rock. This thing is confusing the hell out of me. All of the other 3 rotors came off fine.My Old Car - 2000 Silver V6 Bird

The replacement-
94 Firebird Formula - 383, TH400, and a big blower
http://community.webshots.com/user/fastblackcar94

There seems to be some resistance to turning it at a certain spot when rotating the rotor/axle, which seems to me as though it were the parking brake resisting somewhat, thus holding the rotor on. However, the handle is all the way down in the car, and it doesn't seem like the thing where the cable meets the brake can go any further to release the brake. I wonder if there's something wrong with the parking brake...
[Edit: After a few dozen good hits with an 8lb sledgehammer, per directions from the guy at Murray's, it fiiiiinally came off. It left some gouges in the rotor, but the guy said they could be machined out.]
