  • Steering feels lose!

When I drive the steering has a lot of play in it, and I constantly have to correct it.....anyone know what could cause this?

I had cheap tires once that made the car "wander" on the highway. Better tires, better handling. Alignment out-of-whack, worn busings, worn balljoints, etc. can be the culprit too.

edit: forgot to add, I bought a "steering knuckle kit" on ebay that helped out ALOT! It replaced the old rubber washer (that fits on the steering shaft where the universal joint next to the driver's side of the engine) with a heavy duty rubber/metal material. It helped take most of the wandering away.

      It looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WD1V

This is for an earlier style camaro, but it's basically the same thing I installed.

check for worn parts and make sure that if you have power steering that it is full and in working order. Steering is one of those things that you definatly don't go cheap on.

Any info on this being also for the 98-99 V6 since they have the same rack as an LT1? (Which is why I assume they say only 93-97). My steering sucks.
